Sergio Aguero in a deadly car accident. Man City in deep waters?

Manchester City frontman Sergio Aguero has fractured a rib while in Holland while returning from a Colombian artist Maluma concert.

What exactly happened?

The Manchester City striker, 29, was a short while away from boarding the flight back to Manchester for his clash against Chelsea on Saturday evening when his car driver lost control of the car and hit a pole. The incident occurred whilst driving past by the De Boelelaan area of the city.

He ruptured a rib in the bargain and sustained an injury that could render him out of the game for 2 months.

The Police confirmed to BBC that there were two people in the car at the time of the accident.

While he was rushed to a hospital from a car whose airbags popped open (yes, that was the intensity of the crash) it is said that he will be taken back to Manchester where he will be checked by Man. City’s medical team preceding the Premier League trip to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Reportedly the Argentinian was wearing a seatbelt at the time but that didn’t stop him from a broken rib injury from the crash.

He also posted a picture on Instagram from the gig with the Colombian star. Well, of course. They’re stars!

Here’s one more with Maluma getting an Autographed t-shirt from Aguero.

What next?

Pep Guardiola will be having a news conference on Friday (13:30 BST). More on the story then.

What else happened?

Benjamin Mendy’s ‘knee-jerk’ reaction.

At City’s Crystal Palace clash over the weekend in which they marched into a harmonious victory by a comfortable 5-0 margin, it was confirmed that left-back Mendy has ruptured a ligament in his right knee. That has to hurt!

What’s going to hurt more is that he may be out all season long. That’s £52m City won’t be seeing this season!

What’s going to hurt even more is that Guardiola seemed to be well on his way to Premier League victory (Yes it’s been only 6 weeks but historical stats are in favor of Man city.) But now he has a new challenge on his hand. GREAT opportunity for Sane and Jesus to shine! Besides Jesus doesn’t have to worry about ego clashes with Aguero anymore, even if they ‘didn’t exist’.

YEAH! We’ve read all about Neymar and Cavani, we know all about football star ego feuds now don’t we?

 What it could potentially mean?

The pair will definitely be missing games against Stoke, Napoli, Burnley, Wolves and West Brom in the weeks to come.

It also means that Guardiola will have to shift his A-game (pun intended) to otherwise benched players.

But it’s Guardiola and WE KNOW he’ll be pulling out the best bunnies out of his hat.

Hold on tight, City fans! This just got real.
