…oh and of course and this. The behind the scenes highlights from the night
Of course a lot went into the voting of the best player and here’s whom the captains and coaches of the world voted for
Not surprisingly Cristiano Ronaldo was the clear winner of the #THEBEST FIFA Men’s Player award. This brought him to 5 number of FIFA awards equalling him with that of Lionel Messi, which means over the past decade these two have equally dominated the footballing world hands down.
What is now left is the debate of who really is the best player amongst the two in years to come. (Here we go again!)
Ronaldo was pretty nonchalant on the Messi-CR7 rivalry when he said “It is just starting”

Speaking to the reporters in London he said:
“I don’t compete with Leo,” he said. “He is a player, who is in the same era. He won five times. I won five times too – individual awards for the best in the world. So things are as they are.
“Obviously, I am happy because, as I said before, I am at the best club in the world. I have had the opportunity to demonstrate that I am at a very high level during the last few years. And I am still [physically] very well.
“So I am very quiet. I will see what’s going to happen tomorrow, but at the moment I have to enjoy this nice moment of my life because you never know what will happen next.”
But, asked whether Ronaldo versus Messi was over, the 32-year-old added: “It didn’t finish yet… it is just starting.”
Did he really deserve all the votes though?
He did spearheadReal Madrid in winning the Champions League, La Liga, the UEFA Super Cup AND the FIFA Club World Cup in the last season, after all, making it Los Blancos’ (Real Madrid C.F.) most successful season ever! If that ain’t deserving we don’t know what is!

Zidane who also happened to win #TheBest FIFA Men’s Coach award praised Ronaldo and his prowess on the field calling him the best.
He said “What can I say about him? He is the best and he’s amazing at what he does,” the Frenchman said.
“He is always looking to win titles, working very hard as he said. So we’re very happy for him.”
